Patients at Mtubatuba and Sizanani ART programs transferred to Department of Health clinics
The SACBC AIDS Office treatment programmes at Sizanani (Bronkhorstspruit, Gauteng) and Mtubatuba (Kwa ZuluNatal) were among the first treatment sites of the Catholic Church in early 2004, and among the biggest of the PEPFAR funded ART programme of the SACBC AIDS Office. These clinics had begun providing treatment services after the church –funded treatment programme had been established for several years. All patients at both sites had been transferred to Department of Health clinics by the end of May 2012. PEPFAR funding for the Church’s treatment programme is in its final year, and the SACBC AIDS Office is committed to ensuring that patient treatment is not compromised.
