On the 26th June, Sibonakaliso Mkhize and Nondumiso Jwara delivered office  furniture from Catholic Relief Services to “Light of Hope” in Standerton, Mpumalanga. The furniture, and  printer and desktop computer, was received with joy and gratitude by “Light of Hope” Management. It is going to help them a great deal.

The SACBC AIDS Office staff assisted “Light of Hope” project with improving their filing systems for finance and monitoring and evaluation records, making use of  donated files they had brought along.

The SACBC staff also assisted the project with shopping for children’s educational games,  toys and books and with setting up a drawing /play area in the hall for the smaller children,  as well as a quiet corner for the older children for reading and doing homework.

A short workshop was conducted with caregivers on their role as child care workers and the needs of children in general.

Fifteen households were visited to verify the existence of the children and the accuracy of the caregivers’ reports as well as to distribute winter hampers of blankets and tracksuits to the children.
