News from the Tiyimiseleni Orphanage Project
September started off with Arbour week, the ideal week to plant trees and shrubs in South Africa. The staff of Singita bought some trees to be planted specifically at this time of the year, and came to the Centre so that they and the children could plant them together. Some of the children will now officially look after these new trees and make sure they get enough water to promote quick growth. A big thank-you to all of those Singita staff members that supported the project!
Meanwhile, the new building is progressing very well and hopefully the roof will be completed before the rainy season starts. Just to give you an idea of what we have been doing in the past few months, below are some pictures of what it looked like at the start and where we are now:
