Prevention and Care
- About eighty projects throughout the region are supported through small project funding, assisting prevention, care and support.
- A major concern we have is the financial management of donor funding at project and diocesan level. Approved budgets make provision for a salary/salaries in this regard, and dioceses are urged to appoint competent people.
- The Manzini diocese has been helped with a review of the structure of its various AIDS, justice and peace and development projects with a view to a better management of all diocesan programmes.
Some of the work of Education for Life is being supported through the AIDS Office. Its impact is a cause for concern as many young people continue to expose themselves to danger of infection. Another major concern is that it is not sufficiently targeting young children.
